Happy Autumn Equinox!

What a gorgeous Fall day!  For me, the Autumn Equinox has always signified a time whereas I find Acceptance with those tasks that have been left uncompleted from the bustling Summer months so that I may positively Embrace the Introspection that comes with cooler temps and shorter days.  My mind shifts from a home made to feel Light & Airy to a space filled with Comfort & Warmth, complete with freshly washed flannel sheets and the bedside addition of fuzzy slippers and robes for those cold, chilly mornings.  Today's evening meal will include the warmth and richness of a Hashbrown Cheesy Potato soup with a side of Cornbread, the perfect combination for cuddling on the couch by the glow of a lit fireplace.  A dessert of apple tarts with caramel drizzle and a nice dollop of vanilla ice cream will round out the meal, as nothing welcomes Fall like a decadent dessert.  Once my little lovies are snug in their beds, I shall retire to the backyard, whereas the warmth of the bonfire will warm my bones and the glow of the Waning Moon will Encourage banishment of negative thoughts and patterns.  Each Summer task that has been left uncompleted has been carefully written on pieces of paper and attached with jute to a tree branch.  As I put the branch in the fire this evening, I will be reminded to release any feelings of guilt or regret so that I may take comfort in knowing that Balance is the Key to All Things.  Since there are only so many hours in a day, it is truly Impossible to get to all of those things that we deem important done, and it is always during this time that I find Confidence in knowing that I did the best with my time as I could.
Afterall, the reawakening of the Spring Equinox is right around the corner, and a little mandatory physical down time is just what the Spirit needs to flourish...

Magickal Blessings!

Prosper in All Things

Prosperity comes in many forms.  Most people look at abundance from a perspective of monetary gain, which unfortunately, is truly part of the Reality we live in.  However, I also look at Prosperity in terms of Spirit and feeling Spiritually Rich.  Since Thursdays encompass the intention of Prosperity, I focus on household chores that not only revolve around bringing more money into the household but also bring an increase of Spiritual Growth.  Household bills are always paid on Thursday, with grateful intentions and appreciation for the services, as it is believed that the more you give "Thanks", the more your life will prosper from Karmic rewards.  Personally, I always keep in mind that not everyone can afford the luxury of heat and water, and for that I am truly Blessed.

Carrying a Bay Leaf in your wallet is said to keep your wallet abundant.  Therefore, every Thursday, I reannoint my Bay Leaf with "Magnet" oil and secure it back within my wallet.  During a Full Moon, I am always sure to place that same Bay Leaf under the moon and the stars, as the more power it has, the better.  Sprinkling Basil during this time is also quite beneficial, and while doing so, I always repeat the mantra of "With this Basil, Prosperity Brings".  Since vacuuming seems to be the unending chore, I am always sure to sprinkle the herbs of that specific Intention before completing the task, as it is one of the easiest ways to set your goals in motion.

It has long been thought that the toilet is the means of Prosperity wealth or loss.  Therefore, cleaning the toilet on Thursdays has always been quite the priority.  Along with a good cleaning, I also make sure that the toilet seat is always down before flushing, as the belief has long been that a toilet seat up ensures that your household money will be "flushed down the tubes".

During a Waxing Moon, special emphasis is put into burning a green candle when you rise, instilling an Intention of Productivity and Luck in Business for the day.  I'm also a fan of preparing Italian dishes with the addition of Basil, as ingesting this source of Magick has always been looked upon favorably  Business dealings and decisions, if at all possible, should be saved for Thursdays for increased positivity, and wearing the color green will help keep you focused on the ability to Prosper in All Things.  Everyone can benefit from a richer life, in terms of Money AND Spirit.  Therefore, believing in and setting the Intention for Prosperity is, truly, half the battle.

Happy Thursday!

Harmony and Communication

*Since I was unable to post Wednesday's greeting on Wednesday, I am posting it now.
Sorry for the inconvenience.

Being that the hubs of my home are located in both the Dining Room and Living Room, I always choose to attend to their needs on Wednesdays, as Wednesdays are ideal for energy surrounding Harmony and Communication.  Before beginning my duties, I have made it my practice to turn on light, peaceful music and burn Lavender or calming essential oil or candles.  I also sprinkle dried Lavender on my Living Room floor to ground my intent before giving it a good sweep.  Items that have settled on the end tables promptly get put away, and blinds and curtains are thoroughly washed monthly.

Since my Dining Room also houses my computer, I always spend some part of the day answering any emails that may have piled up, as attending to queries on this day helps remind me to keep focused and easily understood.  The tables and chairs get a good washing, and depending on how far away it is until the next holiday, I may also get the joy of redecorating my buffet cabinet.  When I am feeling extra sprite, the dried flowers on my table are swapped out for fresh, and the table is given a nice coat of wax.

Although I prefer not to use the telephone as a means of communication, I do understand that, obviously, it is unavoidable.  However, by reserving this day to the task of returning phone calls, I allow myself to not feel bad about putting them off.  Appointments are scheduled, outtings are planned, and follow-ups are completed. The day is topped off with Chamomile tea in hopes for a Peaceful rest.

Happy Wednesday!

Creativity, Inspiration and Passion

Creativity, Inspiration and Passion are the themes for Tuesdays.  Therefore, when choosing specific tasks to be completed, I look for ways to Unblock the energy for these Intents.  Since I have been known to awake from a well rested night with a clear focus about my next endeavor, I have always chosen to direct my Tuesday focus on the bedrooms in my home.  Making sure that cluttered areas are eliminated and folded clothes actually make their way to their designated drawers or closets are easy ways to keep the flow of energy moving in that room.  Nightstands and dressers are dusted, and windows are givin' a good cleaning.  If you have a recharging pyramid box on your nightstand for your gemstones, now is definitely the time to make it dust free as well.  Keep those dust bunnies under the bed at bay by thoroughly collecting and disposing of them.  Although, we will be putting more focus on our actual floors on Saturday, getting a jumpstart on ridding ourselves of any residual stagnant energy will definitely help us experience more positive sleep patterns.

Since my bookcase and the books displayed there are of such importance, I always make sure to do a quick dusting of the outer shown covers.  I have found so much Inspiration and Creativity between the pages of quite a few, that the idea of neglecting them is not an option.  Occasionally, this process has caused me to pluck a few and read a few passages.... which has always proved to be beneficial and reinforcing.  My fireplace mantel (which also acts as my daily altar) gets a good dusting and the collection of weekly incense ashes gets dumped.  Occasionally, I choose to swap altar tools based on seasonal changes and holiday dedications.  Making sure that altar items get a routine cleaning help enforce their energy when stored and used.

Since I have quite the admiration for India Temple Incense, I find that I always make it a priority to burn a stick each Tuesday evening.  Something about the embracing scent and the end of a busy day always reminds me that each day brings about Open Possibilities and New Journeys.  A cupful of Mugwort Tea and a couple of spritzes of Egyptian Goddess sheet spray, and I'm off to Dreamland.

Happy Tuesday!

Reflection

Because Monday's association is the Moon, it is only fitting that your household chores are centered around activities that allow you to not only Reflect, but also allow you to hone your skills in Intuition.  At a very basic level, we first see our reflection in a mirror.  Therefore, I always make a priority in cleaning all the mirrors throughout the house, giving special attention to wiping away negativity and infusing an intention of unconditional acceptance.  One way you can make this project even more magickal is by adding a couple drops of essential oil into your cleaning solution.  Rosemary is always a nice touch, as it allows for purification of a space, while Lemon Verbena aids in clearing away old patterns and energy.  There are many wonderful choices to choose from, so be sure to experiment.

A good dusting and polishing is also on my list for the day, as releasing stagnant energy and conjuring circulation is high on a Wiccan priority list.  Be sure not to forget ceiling fan blades, as you would hate to clear the space of dust only to recirculate it once the fan is turned on.  Saging corners and doorways acts to not only protect the space, but also to purify and rededicate the space to be open to Peace and Love.

Although taking baths is not really my cup of tea (I am a Fire Sign, after all), I am sure to draw myself a relaxing bath on Mondays.  By cleaning the bathtub earlier in the day, I set myself up for a wonderful evening of reflection and relaxation before retiring to bed.  Lighting candles, sprinkling rose petals and playing soft music all helps to aide in the meditation process of Self Love and Acceptance.  Also, be sure to pay special attention to dreams on Mondays, as dreamwork and astral travel are most prominent on this day.

Happy Monday!

Radiating Spirit

Oh my!  It's been so long since I've had the opportunity to stop in and share.  Summer has proven to be quite the inteceptor of Peace!  Nevertheless, I have done what I can to retain a few moments each day for my magickal workings, and I look forward to being a more counted on companion as the Summer days slowly wane and the Fall days move in with ease and anticipation.

As most of you know, I am quite the homebody, and I greet my day to day chores with perfect contentment.  It occurred to me, however, that some of you may be needing a little magickal inspiration in this area of your life, as it's easy to be overwhelmed with the tasks at hand.  Being that the magickal focus of each day is so important to me in terms of connecting with the Goddess and her energy, I have found that dividing the weekly chores up based on their Association of Intent has proven to put a positive spin on what we may deem obligatory.  Therefore, my hope for this week is to take the time each day to share with you how I move about my home and get the job done.

Sundays have always been thought of as the day of rest, but for me, they have also been thought of as the Day of Spirit.  The color associated with this day is Yellow, which reminds us to connect with the energy of the Radiating Sun and Radiating Spirit.  Therefore, Sundays are the perfect day to accomplish those tasks that help you feel warm and comforted.  Washing all the bed linens is perfect for this day, as slipping into fresh sheets the night before a busy week makes the transition into Monday much easier.  I find that adding a drop or two of lavender oil to the wash once the cycle begins is a nice little touch, and I always have a sachet filled with dry lavender handy next to the dryer.  Today is also a great day to check on your dream pillows, making sure that there are no tears and that there is still enough of a scent radiating from them to lend itself to the Prophecy of Dreams.

Since a hearty family dinner is always on Sunday's agenda, I find it the perfect time to multitask cleaning the kitchen windows.  Clearing away the grime and letting the sun shine through them a little brighter has always helped keep my mood uplifted.  In the event that you are able, planting window boxes in Spring beneath your kitchen windows tends to be quite helpful during the Summer months.  What a wonderful place for an herb garden!  A snippet here, a snippet there, and the wonderful addition of a culinary aroma...

Along with your household chores, please do not forget to take time to meditate about what a Radiating Spirit means to you.  Clearing away negativity to make room for positive changes, both internally and externally, will help keep you rooted in your ultimate goal of Enlightenment.

Happy Sunday!

Although many people greet Mondays with an impending dread of a long work week, a Witch greets Mondays with renewed excitement for another Magickal Week of Possibilities.  Each day not only corresponds with a different Intention, but it also corresponds with a different color.  Some time ago, while trying to find simple ways to turn my Magickal Life into my Daily Reality, it occurred to me that using the color correspondences when getting dressed was one of the easiest ways to feel "in tune" for the day and feel connected to the Energy surrounding me.  Since each day has many different Associations, depending on specific details, such as current Moon Phase and Sun Sign alignment, I found that it was easier to combine those energies into one Association (unless needed for detailed Spellwork, of course), so that I could have one clear Intention/Color for each of my morning altar meditations throughout the week.  If you have also been looking for simple ways to connect, I hope you find this chart helpful.

Monday:
Color-Light Blue
Intention-Wisdom & Intuition

Tuesday:
Color-Red
Intention-Passion

Wednesday:
Color-Purple
Intention-Harmony & Communication

Thursday:
Color-Green
Intention-Propserity

Friday:
Color-Pink
Intention-Love

Saturday:
Color-Black
Intention-Protection

Sunday:
Color-Yellow
Intention:Self Expression of Spirit

Since color correspondence is one of the most basic ways to use Natural Energy, I thought it was wise to start at the Beginning.  As you master this list and begin to feel comfortable with the Associations, please be sure to check back often, as I will be sure to stay on task in helping you learn other ways to incorporate other Natural Energies into your day, such as Gemstones, Herbs/Plants and even Magickal Energy Housecleaning.  Living a Magickal Lifestyle doesn't have to be secluded to Sabbats and Special Occasions.  Every Day is a Magickal Day.

Blessed Be.
